Get Your First Month Free

Roofing bookkeeping built for storm and insurance roofers.

Your books should show what each job actually made after materials, sub labor, crew burden, commissions, and the supplement you never billed. Most roofing companies never see that number. We make sure you do, every month.

What we find in most roofing companies' books

Every deposit booked as revenue

An ACV check comes in before the roof is on. Cash basis calls it income. The job is not done. Costs are not in yet. The month looks great and the next one looks awful. Neither is true.

One income line for everything

Storm, retail, repairs, and commercial all land in "Sales." You cannot tell which type of work pays. So you keep chasing the one that does not.

Sub labor with no job attached

Sub checks go out as "Contract labor." Nobody tags the job. Two jobs run over by $9,000 each and it hides inside a month that still looked fine.

Depreciation and supplements uncollected

Recoverable depreciation gets released only when someone sends the completion certificate. Supplements get approved and never invoiced. We track both as receivables until the money hits.

Commissions paid on the wrong number

Reps paid on contract price instead of collected margin. One 10% commission on a job with a 22% gross margin takes almost half your profit.

Books your CPA does not trust

Unreconciled accounts, negative balances, an opening balance equity that never went away. Your tax bill gets estimated instead of calculated.

Common questions

What makes roofing bookkeeping different?

Insurance jobs pay in pieces: ACV check, deductible, supplements, then recoverable depreciation. Costs land at different times than cash. Sub labor and commissions eat margin fast. A general bookkeeper treats every deposit as revenue and every check as an expense. We match each dollar to a job.

Do you work with AccuLynx or JobNimbus?

Yes. We reconcile your job board to QuickBooks every month. If AccuLynx says a job made $8,000 and the books say $5,200, we find out why.

Do you handle storm and retail work?

Yes. Income is split by type so you can see storm, retail, repairs, and commercial on their own lines. Most of our roofing clients do mostly insurance work with some retail.

What size roofing company is this for?

$1M to $5M a year. Smaller than that and job costing is usually overkill. Bigger than that and you likely need a full accounting team.

How much does roofing bookkeeping cost?

Most roofing companies in our range pay $900 to $2,500 a month depending on transaction volume. Job costing is an add-on. Full pricing is on the pricing page.

Do you file my taxes?

No. We keep the books. Your CPA files. We deliver a clean, reconciled file every year so tax prep is fast and cheap.

Can you fix books that are behind?

Yes. Most new clients start with a cleanup. We quote it flat after looking at the file, then move to monthly.
